Subject: NIH Shared Instrumentation Grant Program (S10)
Notice of intent to apply are due at the Graduate School on Friday, February 28.
The Office of Research Infrastructure Programs (ORIP) Shared Instrument Grant (SIG) program encourages applications from groups of NIH-supported investigators to purchase or upgrade a single item of expensive, specialized, commercially available instrumentation or an integrated system that costs at least $100,000. The maximum award is $600,000. Types of instruments supported include, but are not limited to, confocal and electron microscopes, biomedical imagers, mass spectrometers, DNA sequencers, biosensors, cell-sorters, X-ray diffraction systems, and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectrometers among others. ORIP intends to commit approximately $40 million in FY 2015 to fund approximately 80 new awards.
Multiple applications from UW-Madison for similar instruments require official administrative assurance that such requests are a coordinated institutional effort and not unintended duplication. For this reason, a Graduate School review of the equipment requested is required. This is not an internal competition.
This contains additional information on the program and specific application instructions, etc.
Notice of intent: Send an e-mail message to email@example.com with “NIH SIG” in the subject line by Friday, February 28, 2014 to inform us of your intention to submit a proposal. Please include the following in your e-mail message:
