The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (RFA-RM-13-017) is to encourage organizations with experience in the mentorship of individuals from diverse backgrounds as they pursue careers in biomedical research to submit grant applications for the NIH National Research Mentoring Network (NRMN). The NRMN will be a nationwide consortium to enhance the training and career development of individuals from diverse backgrounds who are pursuing biomedical, behavioral, clinical, and social science research careers (collectively termed biomedical research careers), through enhanced networking and mentorship experiences.
The NIH Common Fund intends to commit $2,225,000 in FY 2014 for a single NRMN award, contingent upon availability of funds. Application budgets are limited to $2,225,000 in total costs annually. The project period is 5 years.
UW-Madison may submit one proposal.

Notice of intent: Send an email message to firstname.lastname@example.org with "NIH-NRMN" in the subject line by Friday, January 24, 2014 to inform us of your intention to submit a proposal. Please include the following in your email message:
PIs will be notified if an internal competition is needed.
For the project selected, the proposal must be submitted using Grants.gov. Information about campus procedures for Grants.gov is posted on the RSP Web site. The full proposal is due on April 2, 2014.
