Eun Ha Namkung is a PhD candidate in the School of Social Work and graduate assistant at the Waisman Center. Her research interests center around the dynamics and consequences of family caregiving over the life course. Most of her recent work examines families of an adult child with intellectual and developmental disabilities or serious mental illnesses, employing data derived from the Wisconsin Longitudinal Study (WLS) and Midlife on the United States (MIDUS). With the support of the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF), her dissertation research examines the intergenerational relationship in families of an adult child with disabilities and its implication for the well-being of aging parents. Her research and its impact have been recognized by National Association of Social Workers Foundation’s Social Work HEALS fellowship and the International Association of Geriatrics and Gerontology’s student award.
