Postdoc Excellence Awards highlight outstanding postdocs and faculty mentors
The UW–Madison Postdoctoral Association recognized six postdocs and three faculty with Postdoc Excellence Awards to acknowledge their excellence in mentoring, teaching, and service.
The association, a volunteer-led advocacy group for UW–Madison postdocs supported by the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs, launched the Postdoc Excellence Awards in 2021 to reward postdocs for their outstanding efforts in these areas. Awardees were nominated by their colleagues and mentors, with faculty awardees nominated by their current or former postdocs. The awards were announced at the annual Celebration of Postdoc Excellence on May 22.
Congratulations to these award winners:

Aditi Gargeshwari, Waisman Center
Aditi consistently demonstrated exceptional patience, accessibility, and genuine investment in my growth, providing guidance that strengthened both my research skills and confidence over the past two years. Dr. David Murphy is an exceptional mentor who is patient, approachable, and deeply invested in his students, always taking the time to explain complex concepts in a way that is clear and encouraging. He goes above and beyond to support his mentees both academically and personally, creating a positive and engaging environment.

Aaron is an exceptional mentor who has fundamentally shaped how I approach research, pushing me to think more critically while supporting my growth at every step. From navigating unwritten academic norms to finding confidence in your own voice, he doesn’t just invest in your work, he invests in who you’re becoming both as a scientist and as a person.
