Autumn-colored foliage clings to the exterior windows of the Memorial Union at the University of Wisconsin-Madison as nighttime falls and visitors talk inside under the warm glow of lights at the Union's Rathskeller on Nov. 4, 2011.

The Office of Academic Planning and Assessment plays an active role in the evaluation and data collection efforts within the Graduate School.  We lead the creation of internal statistical profiles which include versions designed for the graduate program, divisional, and school levels. In addition, we participate in key national data surveys conducted by the Council of Graduate Schools (CGS), National Science Foundation (NSF), and National Institutes of Health (NIH).

The Office also works closely with the UW-Madison Office of Academic Planning and Institutional Research (APIR) and the University Council on Academic Affairs and Assessment (UCAAA) on efforts related to the continuous improvement and review of graduate programs, accreditation, and the Association of American Universities Data Exchange (AAUDE).
