About the Art History Program
The Department of Art History's mission is to promote scholarly inquiry into the history of art, architecture, and material and visual culture in all different media across historical periods and world cultures. The department offers a two-year M.A. degree for students who wish to develop their background in art history to pursue a career in the art world; a Ph.D. program designed to prepare students for careers in curating or academia; and a graduate certificate in material culture studies.

Many available online programs can be completed almost entirely online with all online programs offering at least 50 percent or more of the program work online.
