About the Astronomy Program

The Astronomy Department currently consists of 11 faculty members, 23 graduate students, and about a dozen postdocs and scientists. We conduct observational and theoretical research in a broad range of areas, from the physics of stars to cosmology, and we build cutting-edge astronomical instrumentation. We have access to a wide range telescopes (WIYN, SALT, SDSS-IV, and IRAM) and computational facilities. We are proud of our inclusive, diverse, and friendly scientific environment.
