About the Educational Psychology Program
Our department develops and applies cutting-edge scientific knowledge concerning: the psychological and social processes that underlie learning; the design of effective instruction; the factors affecting the mental health of learners of all ages; and the methodological tools required to generate this knowledge. U.S. News & World Report (2016) once again ranks our department the No. 1 Ed Psych program in the nation. UW's School of Ed has ranked in the top ten in 16 out of the last 17 years.

For the Ph.D. program, the department offers assistantships to incoming students (pending available funding). Students in the MSPE program are not permitted to hold assistantships.
