About the Geoscience Program

The Dept. conducts research and disseminates information on the structure, chemistry, physics, and evolution of Earth; life on Earth and in the solar system; and the interaction between physical, chemical, and biological processes that shape the Earth. We strive for breadth and excellence in coverage of subdisciplines, and in generation, integration, and application of knowledge. We aim to be at the forefront of research, to reach a broad audience, and to provide knowledge useful to society.
