About the Mass Communications Program

The PhD degree in Mass Communications provides future academics and professionals with rigorous training in theory & research with highly individualized programs that students develop in consultation with advisors. Our Ph.D. graduates become some of the most successful researchers and leaders in the field of mass communication. The interdisciplinary PhD program in Mass Communications is offered jointly by the Dept of Life Sciences Communication and the Schl of Journalism & Mass Communication.

Many available online programs can be completed almost entirely online with all online programs offering at least 50 percent or more of the program work online. Some online programs have an on-campus component that is often designed to accommodate working schedules.
