About the Mechanical Engineering Program
The ME department is one of the largest in the College of Engineering at UW Madison. Students are part of a stimulating learning community of highly motivated students, energetic educators, and creative researchers. Our internationally renowned faculty conduct cutting-edge in-depth research. On-campus students have access to the resources and specialized facilities of a large Engineering campus. Students in the accelerated Automotive Engineering (M.S.) and Modeling and Simulation in Mechanical Engineering (M.S.) programs are not eligible for graduate assistantships. Many available online programs can be completed almost entirely online with all online programs offering at least 50 percent or more of the program work online. Some online programs have an on-campus component that is often designed to accommodate working schedules. 3 These programs have innovative curricula that combine on-campus and online formats. Most hybrid programs are completed on-campus with a partial or completely online semester. For more information about the hybrid schedule of a specific program, contact the program.
