OVCRGE and Graduate School Diversity Committees
OVCRGE Equity and Diversity Committee (EAD)
Mission – The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Education (OVCRGE) Equity & Diversity Committee (OVCRGE E&D Committee) will provide leadership and direction to the OVCRGE Centers and Institutes as they integrate equity and diversity initiatives into their work environments.
Vision – We will make a difference in creating inclusive environments that provide opportunities for all individuals through recruitment, retention, climate, mentoring and networking initiatives.
Goals – Provide timely information and resources to OVCRGE Centers and Institutes in regard to:
- Best practices for recruitment and retention of a diverse workforce
- Guidelines for evaluating and enhancing climate
- Strategies for effective mentoring of employees
- Provide leadership in creating Equity and Diversity Plans across all Centers and Institutes so as to establish goals and action plans in areas outlined above.
Graduate School Committee on Diversity Initiatives (CODI)
The Committee on Diversity Initiatives (CODI), which began in 2005, is charged with promoting diversity and equity among faculty, staff, and students, in Graduate School Administration and Research and Sponsored Programs. Our mission is to create a work environment that promotes awareness and acceptance of individual differences; fosters mutual respect of others; and enables faculty, staff and students to achieve their highest potential.
CODI defines diversity to include a broad range of differences among employees including, but not limited to, race, gender, religion, age, sexual orientation, disability, martial status, and employment classification.
