Parmesh Ramanathan

In partnership with the dean, Associate Dean Ramanathan provides institutional leadership for graduate education across campus, administers policies governing graduate education, develops standards and guidelines for student services, and monitors educational outcomes. As associate dean, he serves on the leadership teams of both the Graduate School and the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Education and works alongside Associate Dean Lisa Martin, under the leadership of Dean Karpus.

Associate Dean Ramanathan’s portfolio includes:

  • Graduate admissions: Responsible for information systems and interactional services that support applicants, students, faculty, and programs throughout the admission process.
  • Academic services: Encompasses student support from matriculation through degree conferral, including satisfactory progress, dean’s office issues, and degree conferral.
  • Program planning and assessment: Support of the Graduate Faculty Executive Committee and development of resources for program review and new program growth.
  • Graduate data analytics: Responsible for producing data analytics to inform planning and decision-making, as well as official data reports for internal and external audiences.
