Announcing new Wisconsin Sloan Center for Systemic Change staff

Jasmia Hamilton portraitJasmia Hamilton has been selected to support graduate students through the Wisconsin Sloan Center for Systemic Change, or WiSC2. Launched earlier this year with support from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, WiSC2, aims to enhance STEM graduate education through equitable community-building, mentorship training, and strategies that promote student success and career achievement.

Jasmia Hamilton (She/Her) is the new Assistant Director for the Wisconsin Sloan Center for Systemic Change. Jasmia has nearly a decade of progressive experience in the higher education and nonprofit sectors. She has led successful initiatives in health equity, leadership development, and educational equity. Jasmia’s experiences include designing affinity-based leadership trainings, co-curating equity focused curriculum, student services, and driving outreach and recruitment efforts. She has experience with locally and nationally renowned organizations including YWCA Madison and the Foundation for Black Women’s Wellness. Jasmia is a proud two-time graduate of UW-Madison’s College of Letters and Science and is a scholar alumna of the Posse Program. She is excited to return to campus and continue her unwavering commitment to elevating the knowledge, perspective, and power of historically underrepresented graduate scholars and communities. Jasmia holds a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership and Change from Edgewood College and a Master of Arts in Gender and Women’s Studies from UW. She welcomes re-connection and new connections with faculty, staff, and students.
