Course Description
Public understanding of science and science literacy are both more and less necessary than we might think, and the capacity of non-scientists to make sense of science is a matter of rich and ongoing debate. Through research, theory, and concrete examples we will explore what it means for science to matter in everyday life. Readings are drawn from across the humanities and social sciences, with particular attention to the interdisciplinary field of science and technology studies.
While this course is not offered through Delta, it counts towards a Delta Certificate. To join, you must enroll in CURRIC 733 or STS 733.
