Eight students competed in UW–Madison’s 2024-25 Three Minute Thesis final competition on February 14. The judges selected three winners based on the content, comprehension, and audience engagement they demonstrated through their research talks. Audience members at the event also voted for their favorite presentation of the day to win the People’s Choice Award.

First Place: Jessamine Kuehn
PhD student in Molecular and Cellular Pharmacology
Talk title: “Mind your Gut: Gifts from your Gut Microbes to fight Alzheimer’s Disease”
As the winner of the campus finals, Jessamine will travel to represent UW–Madison at the Midwest Association of Graduate Schools regional Three Minute Thesis competition in Indianapolis, Indiana, April 2 – 4.

Third Place: Ella Aldridge
