The Council of Graduate Schools (CGS) has released its final report on the PhD Career Pathways project, a nationwide initiative involving 75 universities, including UW–Madison. The Graduate School has introduced several major initiatives aimed at broadening students’ career preparation.

UW–Madison minimum graduate assistant stipends to increase by 5 percent
Minimum stipends for graduate student teaching, research, and project assistantship appointments will increase by 5% for 2026-27, continuing UW–Madison’s commitment to investing in graduate assistantships. The new minimums for graduate assistants appointed at 50% will be $30,614 per academic year for teaching assistants and $37,417 annually for research and project assistants.

Pan researches efficient computer architecture, including sustainable computing, in the lab of Joshua San Miguel, an associate professor of electrical and computer engineering.
