Delta Internship Seminar
This seminar supports graduate students and postdocs who are completing teaching-as-research projects in the Delta Internship Program. Interns develop, teach, and evaluate literature-informed teaching plans that aim to improve learning in a classroom, lab, outreach program, or any other learning context. In the process, you’ll learn how to become a reflective practitioner of evidence-based teaching, network with other people excited about teaching, and prepare for success in your future career. Wednesdays 1:20-3pm, starting September 2.
Expeditions in Evidence-Based Teaching and Learning
Use experiential learning to explore evidence-based and inclusive teaching approaches within different higher education learning contexts. Learn effective approaches to course design and instruction through foundational concepts and observed practice. Tuesdays 10am-noon, starting September 8.
Active Learning Laboratory
Join us to explore how to effectively use active learning in a variety of teaching and learning contexts. This course will take a “learning by doing” approach, with opportunities to examine, experience, and try out various active learning instructional methods in the college classroom. Mondays 10am – noon, starting September 7.
Teaching in Science and Engineering: The College Classroom
Develop foundational knowledge of evidence-based pedagogical practices, explore the literature in higher ed teaching and learning, try new approaches in a supportive environment, and prepare for a successful academic career. Meets Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11am-12:15pm, starting September 3.
